Bar history repeated this year with Singapore losing the title of being Asia鈥檚 best to a Hong Kong agave bar.
Asia鈥檚 50 Best Bars were announced at a live awards ceremony in Bangkok last night, and Hong Kong鈥檚 Coa remained on top followed by runner-up Jigger & Pony from Singapore for a second year.
Coa, which launched in 2017, is known for experimenting with agave spirits and first debuted at the 12th spot in 2019. It is the second bar to top the list consecutively after Singapore鈥檚 Manhattan came in first in 2017 and 2018.
Singapore鈥檚 10 other bars included Mo Bar (No. 8), Manhattan (No. 9), the newly launched Republic (No. 12), No Sleep Club (No. 15), Atlas (No. 23), Tippling Club (No. 27) and Sago House (No. 31), Nutmeg & Clove (No. 36), newbie Analogue (No. 37), and 28 HongKong Street (No. 49).
New entries made it high on the list, with Hong Kong鈥檚 Argo (No. 3), followed by Goa鈥檚 Tesouro (No. 4).
The best-improved bar was Mo Bar, which jumped 37 spots, followed by the 27-rank jump of Hong Kong鈥檚 Darkside (No. 13), and Singapore鈥檚 Sago House (No. 31), which shot up by 18.
Other bars around the region included Tokyo鈥檚 Bar Benfiddich (No. 5), 叠补苍驳办辞办鈥檚 BKK Social (No. 10), Seoul鈥檚 Charles H (No. 7), India鈥檚 Sidecar (No.14), Malaysia鈥檚 Bar Trigona (No. 29), and Jakarta鈥檚 The Cocktail Club (No. 32)
