Feast your eyes and taste buds on delectable bite-sized butter cookies from Denmark Leckerbaer (lay-ga-ber) opens its first overseas store in Singapore tomorrow. 

Known for its beautifully crafted traditional butter cookies, also known as ����å�첹�����s (smaw-kay-er), the Danish confectionary’s 36-seater space will be located at the Isetan Scotts department store on Orchard Road. 

The Danish cookie studio experiments with a variety of ingredients and flavors for their bakes, including raspberry, caramel, vanilla, and white chocolate. Its tea-time dessert assortment also includes salted caramel meringue cakes and their signature Lemon and Sea Buckthorn Tarts. 

You can pair them with a glass of lemonade, hot and cold brew tea or Chai latte. 

Savory options include vegetarian peas and an avocado tart, a gruyere cheese-filled quiche tart served with parma ham, and a pickled onion and herb salad. 

Leckerbaer promises fare to evoke the Danish hygge (hoo-guh) lifestyle, known to represent the friendliness and coziness of the Scandinavian country frequently cited as the world’s happiest nation.

“With the aim of bringing this unique tradition to Singapore, Leckerbaer encourages the #HyggeLife by offering their delightful ����å�첹����� and confectionaries to add heartwarming hygge moments to gatherings, be it a charming afternoon tea in the comforts of home or an intimate catch-up with loved ones,” it said in its announcement. 

Delivery and takeaway are also available, with orders packed in luxe, royal blue boxes.

The store’s grand opening will begin at 1pm on Thursday.
