Much has been said about the offensive outfits of Coachella Music Festival, where basic bros and bitches think it’s hip to don Native American headdresses, bindis and other .

But popular Singaporean YouTube channel  (NOC) probably didn’t get the memo. In yet another basic makeup video (that’s since been taken down), the ladies of NOC got together to, in their words, “hop onto the Coachella bandwagon and challenged each other to do a music festival look under 10 minutes”.

Now, to be fair, we didn’t watch the video pre-controversy, but Twitter user did, and righteously called the ladies out for their casually racist comments. Oh, no worries, we’re sure they aren’t intolerant per se (they’ll claim to have “a lot of Indian friends, okay”), but it is rather disturbing to see them casually associate looking “like shit” with “attending Deepavali”.

As you’d expect, NOC diehards and general haters arrived in droves to claim people shouldn’t be easily offended. Like, yeah buds, let’s all have a laugh and let the feelings of minorities be shat upon, shall we?

NOC, on its end, quickly took down the particular video and issued an apology.

Problem solved? Nah. It’s not the first time the popular YouTube channel has put up questionable content. Here’s a vid that, once again, seems to target the Indian community in a ~whimsical~ skit on “How To Spot A Singaporean Overseas”. If the intention was to highlight the racist, bimbotic paranoia of Singaporeans, then great job. It’s still up, as of writing.

Not the first. Maybe it wouldn’t be the last either.
