Yet another train fault caused distress this morning for commuters forced to take a long walk of shame on the tracks instead.
Commuters had to disembark the train near the Keat Hong Station along the Bukit Panjang LRT line after a three-hour disruption caused by an unspecified system problem.
鈥淒ue to a train fault at #KeatHong, train service from #BukitPanjang to #ChoaChuKang will be delayed,鈥 Train operator SMRT tweeted at around 9:30am this morning.
Agitated commuters stuck inside the train were seen in videos circulating online today. Several staff in safety gear arrived to help them alight the train. They walked along the tracks under the beaming sun.
Fire trucks and firefighters were also spotted outside the station.
SMRT has not immediately responded to 颁辞肠辞苍耻迟蝉鈥 queries.
SMRT鈥檚 latest update three hours later announced that service had been restored.
Free bus and shuttle train services were provided to affected commuters.
This came less than two weeks when a similar train fault happened on the same line between the nearby Teck Whye and Phoenix stations. Services resumed 20 minutes later.
