Public transit continues to be a forum for Singapore’s ugliest behavior, with another episode of racist harassment reported yesterday.

A woman identifying herself as Z. Hidayah online took to social media with video of a woman she said tried to start a fight by shouting and threatening to report her to the police for giving her “dangerous eyes,” and even referred to her as a “brownie.”

“Just keep on doing what you want to do, I didn’t do anything,” Hidayah’s voice can be heard saying in the 41-second clip, to which the woman shouts back, saying: “What, you didn’t do anything? You shot your dangerous eyes at me!”

Hidayah said that she was seated behind the bespectacled woman when she began harassing her. After moving to the front of the bus, she said the woman “kept making a scene.” 

“I just took a seat behind her and she started to yell at me and stared at me. Then proceeded to yell at me [and] wanted to report me to the police??? – for having ‘dangerous eyes’? [I] just wanna get to work bro,” Hidayah wrote.

She has not responded to ��dz��DzԳܳٲ�’ messages seeking comment.

“[S]he made [a lot] of comments under her breath – ‘you brownies are the problem in my country, in this country’ – [I] have now felt racism towards me, targeted to me & honestly it’s the shittiest feeling,” she wrote, adding: “Honestly the one thing that got to me is the fact that she is being racist. Targeted to me, in my face.”

Last month, a serial harasser’s YouTube channel of hate was unearthed after one man documented his encounter with her. She had created years worth of videos, many on public transportation, in which she belittled train commuters in monologues boasting her supposed elite status.
