The ruling People鈥檚 Action Party continues to stack its deck with business elites with today鈥檚 announcement that the director for enterprise development at Temasek Holdings is among its roster of new candidates.
Shawn Huang, 37, joined the firm helmed by the prime minister鈥檚 wife, Ho Ching, just four months ago, according to his account, which identifies him as a father of two and F-16 pilot. Prior to that, he spent nearly two decades in the Singapore Armed Forces.

Huang was one of eight new candidates introduced by PAP today. Others include Gan Siow Huang, 46, Singapore鈥檚 first female brigadier-general; Rohei CEO Rachel Ong Sin Yen, 47; Rolls-Royce employee Sharael Taha, 39; lawyer Alex Yeo Sheng Chye, 40; Boston Consulting Group Singapore Managing Director Mariam Jaafar, 43; Marketing Director Chan Hui Yuh; and Daughters of Tomorrow charity founder Carrie Tan, 37.

It was not specified which constituencies they would contest.聽
They were the last of 27 new faces contesting next month鈥檚 election for the ruling party. The party鈥檚 first slate of new candidates announced Wednesday included Timbre boss Edward Chia.聽
