The season of giving – and dazzling festive lights – is back at Singapore鈥檚 famous Gardens by the Bay.聽聽
The eighth edition of the annual Christmas Wonderland event is welcoming Singaporeans once again till Jan. 2 with its Venetian carousel, light shows, and plenty of photo-worthy corners, including one with a skinnier Santa Claus (no high fives with Father Christmas due to COVID-19 restrictions).
It鈥檚 impossible to miss the event, which occupies the entire main space at the center of the garden, and especially with loud Christmas songs blasting through the speakers. The event features the all-time favorite seven-story Spalliera sculpture from Italy and new light installations such as a 44-meter tunnel covered with multi-colored LED lights, and a bridge glowing with 100,000 LED bulbs. Five other flashy installations are in store for visitors.
Tired of looking at lights? You could hop on a horse or carriage at the two-story carousel for S$10 a ticket, or win giant plushies by playing carnival games like fishing, darts, and bowling.
The 鈥淢istletoe Alley Market鈥 is not so much for kissing than it is for shopping. Here is where you can buy everything from soaps to toothpaste or stock on duty-free alcohol. Smoochy couples might want to head over to the Dollop photobooth and pack on some P.D.A.
The annual festival has become a hallmark event since launching in 2014 and attracting more than 4.8 million visitors so far. Admission is S$7 per person and tickets are on online. Visitors are required to pick a time slot between 6:30 pm and 11 pm.
