Malaysian netizens have just found out that the QR code on the COVID-19 vaccination badge used by Health Minister Adham Baba four months ago was linked to an audio clip of a random man talking about his artwork.��

Twitter user Kenn shared his finding online today in a post that included screenshots indicating that the vaccination badge carried by Adham during his live-streamed March 17 press conference was linked to a SoundCloud page owned by user “ICT Evangelist.” We scanned the QR code and found ourselves listening to a man rambling about his art for nearly 30 seconds. ��

“Wait. Let’s check out that QR code lol,” Kenn, who is known by the handle @kennleandre, wrote in a tweet today. It quickly drew reactions from others including Lembah Pantai Member of Parliament Fahmi Fadzil, who retweeted it. There were those who also wondered whether the badge was merely a dummy that Adham had used to present to the media.��

“As if QR code tu susah sgt nak generate. (As if it is difficult to generate a QR code). The choice of the code is also so random lol,” another reacted online, adding a from Anchorman.

“Guess the person who made the sample card doesn’t understand you don’t take QR codes from the internet like some sample clip art,” said Twitter user , while : “Maybe it’s just a sample card, doesn’t have to be exact.”

Adham revealed the vaccination badge to the press in March. That badge would be issued to those who have received the second dose of the vaccine on top of a digital certificate that they can download on the MySejahtera coronavirus tracking app.

“This badge will indicate those who have completed their second vaccination dose, ” he said, adding that the name and ID number of the vaccinated individual will also be printed on the badge. He also said that the badges cannot be forged since they contain security codes.��
