It looks like California-based fast-food chain Taco Bell is keen on expanding its influence on Malaysian shores.
Last Friday, a post by Tropicana Gardens Mall in Petaling Jaya showed that the Mexican-inspired eatery would open its first outlet here.

鈥淭aco Bell is invading Tropicana Gardens Mall!!! Are you excited??? Tag any of your friends now who can鈥檛 wait for this!鈥 the caption . The post was accompanied by a photo of Taco Bell鈥檚 banner on the exterior of the outlet.
The mall, located in the Surian district, didn鈥檛 reveal exactly when the Tex Mex restaurant would be available to KL-ites, but promised they鈥檇 share more details closer to the opening date in a separate comment yesterday.
Taco Bell is famous for its Mexican-inspired cuisine, with a wide range of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nacho bowls, some of it loaded with cheese.
Like most Malaysian fast-food restaurants – we鈥檙e looking at you, McD and KFC – we hope to see a variety of 鈥淢alaysian-ized鈥 dishes too, like nasi lemak (coconut milk rice) tacos, perhaps?
Last year, Taco Bell revealed that the brand was to expand its markets into the Southeast Asian region. At the moment, the fast-food chain has five restaurants in Thailand and six in the Philippines.
