The American social media platform that鈥檚 grown increasingly popular with Thais, though still lagging behind Facebook, Instagram and possibly TikTok now, today launched a dual-language account for Thais to stay updated.
Introducing @this morning, Twitter celebrated its launch with a unique emoji of two Thai children performing a wai. The emoji will appear automatically when specific hash tags are used: #喔抚喔编釜喔斷傅喔椸抚喔脆笗喙喔曕腑喔`箤, #喔椸抚喔脆笗喙喔曕腑喔`箤喔涏福喔班箑喔椸辅喙勦笚喔, #喔⑧复喔權笖喔掂笗喙夃腑喔權福喔编笟喔椸抚喔脆笗喙喔曕腑喔`箤喙勦笚喔, #喔抚喔编釜喔斷傅喔椸抚喔脆笗喙喔曕腑喔`箤喔涏福喔班箑喔椸辅喙勦笚喔 (#SawasdeeTwitter, #TwitterThailand, #WelcomeTwitterThailand, and #HelloTwitterThailand).

Twitter said that while the first quarter saw conversations about COVID-19 in Thailand spike, discussion of cooking, travel, technology and sports grew significantly.
Twitter says it has partnered with domestic NGOs and government agencies on a variety of initiatives women鈥檚 empowerment, press freedom and mental health.
