Reward money for info on gunman who killed 3 at Lopburi gold shop

Police on Friday were hunting a man who opened fire at a gold shop in Lopburi province, killing at least three people, including a toddler.
A THB100,000 reward has been offered to anyone who knows the whereabouts of the man responsible for yesterday鈥檚 carnage at the Aurora gold shop in Robinson Lifestyle in Lopburi province. Terrifying footage shows the masked man arrive at the store and open fire on its customers and employees before hopping over the counter to grab the jewelry and make his escape.

Those dead included security guard Theerachat Nimma, employee Thidarat Tongtip and a 2-year-old boy at the store with his mother, who survived.

The reward is being offered for anyone who can provide information leading to the perpetrator鈥檚 arrest. Anyone with information can contact the police via 191 or 1599.聽

Aurora Gold and Jewelry Friday afternoon that it’s offering an additional THB100,000 reward to anyone who knows the whereabouts of the perpetrator, doubling the original reward.

Mass shootings are rare in Thailand, though just two months ago a retired cop was killed after opening fire on a courtroom.聽

Committing homicide during a robbery is punishable by life behind bars or death.

Correction: An earlier version of this story based on initial reports stated that five people were killed in the robbery. In fact, three people were dead and four injured.
