Vorayudh “Boss” Yoovidhya, the Red Bull heir who is wanted on charges of killing a motorcycle policeman in a 2012 car wreck and fleeing the crime scene, is due in the prosecutor鈥檚 office tomorrow.
The case has met delay after delay in the five years since the bloody wreck in which Vorayudh, 31, allegedly dragged Pol. Sen. Sgt. Maj. Wichean Glanprasert, a patrol chief at Thong Lor station, along Sukhumvit Road in his Ferrari on Sept. 3, 2012, before leaving the officer for dead.
When police found the suspect just hours later, he was allegedly drunk, which led many to believe it was a drunken hit-and-run as opposed to a sober one.
The heir has been summoned to face charges of speeding, hit-and-run, and deadly, reckless driving. Vorayudh鈥檚 legal team has denied the reckless driving charge, saying the police officer drove in front of him. There is no charge regarding drunk driving since Vorayudh鈥檚 family claims that he only began drinking once he fled the scene and got home.
The charge of speeding expired after one year, the hit-and-run charge expires this September. For that reason, it鈥檚 been thought that the suspect has been hiding outside of Thailand, reported .
It鈥檚 been recently reported that continues to live the high-profile, high life on his family鈥檚 dime, despite being wanted on serious charges. He is said to travel the world on private jets, stay in THB30,000 per night resorts, and sit in VIP seats at Red Bull-sponsored sporting events. The black Porsche he drives in London is said to feature the license plate: B055 RBR (for 鈥淏oss Red Bull Racing鈥).
