An investigation into the police treatment of the three suspects in the murder of a Khon Kaen bar girl has been launched, following viral photos in which the trio appear to be relaxing in police custody.
The suspects Preeyanuch 鈥淧reaw鈥 Nonwangchai, 24, Kawita 鈥淓arn鈥 Ratchada, 25, and Apiwan 鈥淛ae鈥 Sattayabundit, 28, have confessed to killing and dismembering Warisara Klinjui, 22. However, they were not handcuffed after they were transferred Saturday night from Myanmar to Chiang Rai immigration.

More photos of the suspects engaging in leisure activities such as applying makeup and smoking enraged the public. Another photo shows suspect Preeyanuch with her face covered in white powder smiling for a photo with a police officer, who also looks pretty pleased.
Police spokesman Detnarong Suthicharnpanya said that a committee had been set up to look into the treatment of the suspects. He said that he personally believes that the police actions were a strategy to 鈥渞elax鈥 the suspects so that they would reveal more information, reported.
Today the trio were taken to re-enact the murder and dismembering of the victim in Khon Kaen. They were escorted by up to 300 police officers, as the scene attracted hundreds of bystanders.
The re-enactment included the moment the suspects allegedly picked up the victim in a rented car at an intersection on Nadi Road, killed her in the car, purchased a saw at a local store, and cut up the 22-year-old bar girl at a resort.
The victim’s dismembered body was stuffed into plastic bags, put in two plastic containers and buried on a land in Khao Suan Kwang district.
The trial for the three women has been scheduled for Monday afternoon. Police will oppose bail, reported.
