Ten years ago today, the army made its final move to clear out the Redshirt protesters who had occupied a wide swath of downtown for weeks. Death, chaos and flames ensued, and when it was all done, nearly 100 civilians, two foreign journalists and a number of soldiers had been killed between April and May, 2010.
Todd Ruiz, now managing editor of 黑料社 Bangkok, was reporting from the field during that time from throughout the protest zone and inside the fortified Lumphini Park encampment where shadowy militants in black operated from.聽
