Italian liqueur brand Campari, in a joint project with award-winning Bangkok bar Vesper, has opened a new cocktail bar in the Silom neighborhood.聽
The new concept is called 1919, and is named after the year that the Negroni was believed to be invented in Florence, Italy. The cocktail bar, which is dedicated to the much-loved classic cocktail, as well as the 鈥淚talian art of having a good time,鈥 opened last week next door to Vesper, the cocktail lounge that鈥檚 ranked No. 26 of the Asia鈥檚 50 Best Bars this year.聽

The drink menu is dedicated to cocktails of Italian origin, and are crafted by bartenders led by Supawit 鈥淧alm鈥 Muttarattana, a mixologist who was crowned the winner of the Campari Bartender Competition Asia earlier this year.
Among seven types of Negroni offered at 1919 are the Classic Negroni (THB360), Barrel-Aged Negroni (THB400), a red-hued Truffle Negroni (Campari, Bulldog gin, Cinzano 1757 Rossi, Mancino Secco and black truffle for THB490) and a French-inspired White Negroni (Bulldog gin, Luxardo Bianco Bitter, Cinzano Bianco, extra-virgin olive oil and thyme leaves for THB360).

Aside from Negronis, the bar also offers other cocktails inspired by Italian ingredients, classic Italian coffee, wines and more. The drinks can go together with Italian dishes such as pasta, steaks and cold-cuts served at the bar-turned-trattoria.聽
1919 Italian Bar & Restaurant is open from 11am through midnight on weekdays, and 5:30pm until midnight on weekends. It鈥檚 located on Convent Road and can be reached from BTS Sala Daeng or MRT Silom.
