Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Indonesia is set to launch their latest international service tomorrow, offering flights to Amsterdam from Denpasar via a stop in Medan, North Sumatra and vice versa, a move the airline claims is part of an effort to meet the demands for more options in connectivity and flight schedules among international passengers.聽

鈥淎s one of the busiest hubs in western Indonesia, Medan is a strategic choice for Garuda Indonesia to offer a more varied flight service to Amsterdam and vice versa,鈥

The new service will utilize the Airbus A330-200 and will be available six times a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.聽

According to Pikri, the new route not only aims to meet a high demand to fly to Denpasar from Amsterdam but also part of Garuda Indonesia鈥檚 effort to support the government in furthering Indonesian tourism, citing both Medan and Bali as top destinations among foreign tourists visiting the country.聽

In addition, the change will affect the journey of passengers who have already bought Garuda Indonesia tickets for their Jakarta-Amsterdam direct flight, who Pikri said will now be flown to Medan鈥檚 Kualanamu International Airport from Jakarta and then continue the journey to Amsterdam, and vice versa.聽
